Marlene King, the series was broadcast on Freeform[b] between June 8, 2010, and June 27, 2017, comprising 160 episodes over seven seasons. Set in the fictional Rosewood, Pennsylvania, the plot follows five best friends whose secrets are consistently threatened by the anonymous \"A\", who begins harassing them after the disappearance of their clique leader. Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish lead the ensemble cast, alongside Holly Marie Combs, Ian Harding, Bianca Lawson, Laura Leighton, Chad Lowe, Nia Peeples, Tyler Blackburn and Andrea Parker.
The Pretty Little Liars series of novels was first published in October 2006 and comprises 18 books, divided into four arcs and companion stories. The project was given to author Sara Shepard by book packaging company Alloy Entertainment following the conception of the idea of a \"Desperate Housewives for teens\". Shepard was chosen due to her having grown up in a town similar to the fictional Rosewood, where the series take place, and her online presence. The television adaptation was first planned for The WB until the network shut down in 2006.[better source needed] A pilot for ABC Family was announced in June 2008, with I. Marlene King serving as the series' developer and showrunner. The viewership success of the first 10 episodes prompted ABC Family to order 12 additional episodes, finishing the first season with 22 installments. It also led Alloy Entertainment to extend the novel series beyond its original foreseen count of eight books.
Two actors were replaced following the pilot episode: Keegan Allen replaced James Neate as Toby Cavanaugh and Ryan Merriman replaced Carlo Marks as Ian Thomas. After the first season was broadcast, three other roles received new actors: Andrea Parker took over Jessica DiLaurentis from Anne Marie DeLuise, Drew Van Acker took over Jason DiLaurentis from Parker Bagley, and Natalie Hall took over Kate Randall from Natalie Floyd. Parker's casting for the second season was announced in April 2011. That month, Annabeth Gish joined the cast as Anne Sullivan, a therapist hired by the girls' parents to help them. Also during the second season, Lawson had a minor starring role, being only credited in the episodes she appeared in. For the third season, Tyler Blackburn and Parrish were promoted to the series' starring cast following their recurring appearances. Blackburn left the cast in the fourteenth episode of the fourth season to star in Ravenswood and returned in the fifth episode of the fifth season.
Pretty Little Liars opened with mixed reviews. Metacritic gave the pilot episode 54 out of 100, based upon 14 critical reviews. The New York Daily News gave the show a positive review, commenting that it \"makes most popular vampire romances look anemic\", while concluding, \"Pretty Little Liars could go in several directions, including mundane teen clichés. It's got an equally good shot at making us care about these imperfect pretty girls.\" A writer on Terror Hook has stated that \" 'Pretty Little Liars' gets off to a very promising start. Great production all around, the writing keeps the viewer on their toes, and the acting just reinforces it. The overall mystery of the show in the end is dark and unpredictable, even stepping into the slasher film realm.\" The New York Post gave the show three out of five stars, stating, \"OK, so we've established that there is no socially redeeming value in this series and that your kids shouldn't watch it if they are too young and impressionable. But if you can distract them enough to miss the first 15 minutes, the show isn't half-bad. Actually, it is half-good, if that makes sense.\" The Los Angeles Times wrote that the series is \"one of those shows that manages to mildly, and perhaps unintentionally, spoof its genre while fully participating in it, and that's not a bad thing at all.\"

Starfire came to Earth as Koriand'r, a Tamaranean princess being transported by Gordanians, in exile as a slave to the Citadel. Through the use of her innate Tamaranean superhuman strength and incredible agility, she broke free from the brig aboard a Gordanian ship and landed in Jump City. While attempting to free herself of the handcuffs with which she had been laden, she ended up both destroying buildings and cars and running into four young teenagers, with whom she would later fight crime.
Having been tracked by the Titans, she reunited with them and fought off the wave of Gordanians sent to recapture her. Angered at Lord Trogaar's promise of destruction, she yelled at Robin, reminding him that she told him to leave her alone. The two got into an argument, but the situation was quickly defused after they apologized to each other, and the decision was made to work as a team to save the city from the Gordanians' particle weapon. The five teenagers founded the Teen Titans shortly after.

But after their second fight with Thunder and Lightning, Starfire finally forgives Beast Boy for the prank.

While fighting the new Red X, she was called cute by him but rejected his offer for a date. With Red X successfully escaping, the Titans come back to the tower. Starfire discusses with the team on who the mysterious and new Red X could be.

She threatens to release them on the city unless Robin kisses her. Robin is as disgusted as he is horrified. Just as Kitten is about to kiss him, Robin puts his finger against her lips and tells her \"not even if you paid me\". He tries to get the controller but is interrupted by the arrival of Kitten's boyfriend, Fang (a teenaged boy with a massive spider for a head) who bats Robin away from her. Starfire then shoots a Starbolt at Fang and asks Robin if he is alright. At the end of the episode, after Fang, Kitten and Killer Moth are defeated, an announcer declares Robin and Starfire as the Prom King and Queen. Robin had earlier told Kitten that he did not dance, but at this point, he smiles, takes Starfire's hand, and says one more could not hurt. Thus, Robin and Starfire share their first romantic dance together.
When the Titans first arrive in Tokyo, they have some trouble with the language since none of them are able to speak Japanese. However, Starfire claims that she might be able to help and, to the shock and surprise of her friends, she suddenly grabs a teenaged stranger and kisses him. Out of all the Titans, Robin is the most shocked, and he becomes very jealous that Starfire kissed the boy, even though it was for a reason. Robin also seems to realize that the reason why Starfire kissed him when they first met was just so she could learn to speak English, which makes him more upset, as he most likely believed it was an entirely romantic action. When the Titans decide to explore Tokyo separately, Starfire and Robin go to explore Tokyo together.
Just as Cyborg serves as an older brother to Starfire, Beast Boy tends to act as her younger brother. He sometimes oversteps himself by taking his pranks too far and being insensitive about matters that are serious to Starfire, but the two are very close and trust each other in battle. Beast Boy has learned good things from her. One time, Beast Boy plans to get revenge on Cyborg for pranking him, by throwing an oil balloon in Cyborg's face. When the balloon accidentally hits Starfire, an angry Starfire chooses to ignore Beast Boy. They soon reunite. Beast Boy realizes that she taught him to be a good person. Starfire laughs at most of Beast Boy's jokes, even though they are not funny and she does not get the majority of them, but they remain family, and Starfire is the first person of choice Beast Boy would entrust a very delicate secret to. Beast Boy also trusts Starfire enough to help hide his secret pet Silkie from the other Titans, and it is during this episode she forms her maternal bond to Silkie. Incidentally, both find the silkworm to be cute.
